ART - Advanced Robotic Techniques

Program Overview

Robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy has become an effective option for the management of organ-confined prostate cancer. The goal of this surgery is to cure cancer through removal of the malignant gland, whilst preserving potency and augmenting early return of continence. Robotic assistance may provide a benefit.

The Live Robotic Nerve-Sparing Prostatectomy Satellite Symposium Prior to AUA 2008 is an opportunity to improve cancer treatment and patient care through balanced dialog and exchange in a focused setting. The course will consist of a live robot assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy presented in 3-D format, moderated by experienced prostate surgeons.
